Cash for Good Grades & Attendance

To encourage our youth to attend and excel at school, The Aleut Foundation conducts $100 cash prize drawings for students who maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or above and for students with outstanding attendance. (Outstanding attendance is defined as present 90% of the school year.) Only TAC shareholders and confirmed descendants enrolled in grades 7-12 are eligible to participate.

Drawings are conducted for each category twice a year following the end of the winter and spring semesters. Three winners are randomly selected to receive $100 cash cards for each category, including one youth each who resides in the Aleut Region, in Alaska outside of the Aleut Region, and one who resides outside of Alaska. Youth may not win more than one award per semester.

Deadlines for each term are as follows:

  • Winter (Date to be announced for February)
  • Spring (Date to be announced for July)

To enter, eligible youth must submit a copy of the report card for the immediately preceding semester to the Shareholder Development Department by the posted deadline. The report card must clearly show the following:

    • Student’s name
    • Time period being reported on
    • Student’s grades
    • Student’s attendance record
    • Name and contact information of the student’s school

TAF will attempt to contact the winner using the contact information on file. If the winner cannot be contacted within ten days, the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner selected in accordance with contest rules.

Youth Advance Scholarship

“Always learning and maintaining balance” is an Unangax value that The Aleut Foundation is committed to upholding. Through the Youth Advance Scholarship program, TAC provides training, artistic learning, and cultural enrichment opportunities to shareholders and descendants.

Beginning as early as age 3 and up to the 12th grade, TAC youth are eligible to apply for scholarship up to $500 to assist with the cost of attending classes, camps, or events in extra-curricular areas such as athletic, scholastic, art, or music. Since its launch in 2018, The Aleut Corporation has awarded over $39,000 to 142 Youth Advance scholarship recipients.
