Support Programs
529 Incentive Program
The 529 Incentive Program was created to support families in saving for their young ones’ educations. We will match contributions made to a 529 plan up to $250 dollars per year, per beneficiary. The beneficiary of the 529 plan must be a shareholder or a registered descendant of The Aleut Corporation (Aleut) per our eligibility requirements. Please read our full guidelines for details.
What is a 529 plan?
A 529 plan is an investment account used to save for educational costs. It is similar to a retirement account, like a Roth IRA, which grows in value over time. Money can be withdrawn tax-free from a 529 plan if it is used to pay for qualified education expenses.
How can I start saving in a 529 plan?
Most states have a 529 plan available, including Alaska! These plans are also available through many investment brokers. We do not require the 529 plan to be with any specific state or broker.
Are there any rules on who can contribute to the 529 plan?
Most contributions made to a 529 plan are by relatives. We can also reimburse contributions to a 529 plan made by people other than the beneficiary’s family. We will not match contributions made by other organizations or governments.

Emergent Electronics Program
The Emergent Electronics Program was created to support students that need to purchase electronics and software as part of their education.
Starting April 1st each year, we can reimburse up to $600 for electronics and software purchased for educational purposes. Shareholders and registered descendants of The Aleut Corporation (Aleut) are eligible to apply.
We accept applications on a first-come first-served basis until the program’s funding is exhausted for the year.
