TRAVEL

As part of our cultural preservation mission for the Aleut people, The Aleut Foundation offers funding for travel to eligible applicants for various cultural or educational activities. We sponsor travel for both individuals and groups.

The standard travel scholarship is up to $1,000 per person.

We also offer special funding to travel for certain seasonal events relevant to the Aleut community. Travel scholarships for these events are offered on a first come, first served basis until funding is exhausted for the year:

First Alaskans Institute Annual Elders & Youth Conference – up to $2,500 per person.
The Aleut Corporation Annual Shareholder Meeting – up to $2,500 per person.
Culture Camp – Up to $2,500 per person. (The 2024 deadline to apply for Culture Camp travel is May 31)

Please note that we are no longer able to fund travel for the Alaska Federation of Natives (AFN) convention. This policy will remain in effect until further notice.
